Anthony Fleming

I graduated with my PhD from West Virginia University in 2010.  My primary area of research is firearms policy in the United States and Canada.  I have published two books on the topic: Gun Policy in the United States and Canada: The Impact of Mass Murders and Assassinations on Gun Control and Guns and Values: Individualism in the American Gun Debate with co-author Dr. Dylan McLean. I have had articles appear in Social Science Quarterly, World Affairs, and Midsouth Political Science Review. Beyond research, I teach Introduction to American Government, Gun Policy, Disaster Management, and Policy Analysis and Evaluation and I am a core MPA faculty member.  I am currently the Chair of the Department of Civic Engagement and Public Service where I oversee the disciplines of Political Science and Criminology.
