A note on Double Majors and Degrees Conferred
If a student completes the requirements for two or more majors in the same degree specification (e.g., B.A. or B.S.) it is considered a double major. The student will receive one degree with both majors identified by name on both the transcript and the diploma. It is the student’s choice as to which major is the primary major in which the degree is conferred with the second major as the notation. For example, a student who completes the requirements for both a B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literatures and a B.A. in English will receive one degree with both majors listed.
A dual degree is a second bachelor's degree in a different degree specification conferred in the same term. The student must complete the separate degree designation requirements for each degree (e.g., a B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literatures and a B.S. in Biology). In this case, two separate degrees are awarded.
