“UWG Live Productions has truly paved the way for me in my career and is a monumental reason why I’m at IMG Academy now as a football video coordinator. I joined UWG live productions my senior year at the beginning of basketball season and was welcomed with open arms by the staff. They promised to help me better my camera work skills and understand more about the dynamics of productions in general. I couldn’t have made a better decision as I joined an amazing group who helped me perfect my craft by showing me how to improve step by step. They build the mentality within you to want to be great at everything you do while still striving to be better than you were yesterday. You learn to be adaptable in all roles within the production crew while finding your passion in the role that suits you best. I’m truly grateful to have been apart of such an amazing organization. Since I’ve been in Florida, I tell everyone I can that the best Live Productions crew for a college program is located right in Carrollton, Georgia at the University of West Georgia. "My sophomore year I got introduced to the sports production side of film where Corey Speights transformed my view on telling a story in the control room. While working for UWG Productions, I spent most of my time training myself and others on the aspects of the replay system. Although my position was mostly in the control room, I also dabbled with the camera. In this field, I learned the importance of moving at an effective pace and working with a team. Not only do you have to do your job; communication is key in the control room or on the field. We are given walkies that allow us to talk to other key members of the team to establish the flow of the game. Our director talks the most - telling us exactly what to do! This is key to a good show because it establishes organization, professionalism and team work! I utilize what I learned from this opportunity as I work on professional film sets today."
