Dear Wolves,

Welcome to the Spring 2025 semester! I hope you stayed safe through the winter weather weekend. We will be open with full operations Monday, ready to welcome you back. As you return to campus, please continue to exercise caution; your safety remains our top priority.

This is going to be an exciting new year in which you will notice meaningful enhancements to your experience, as I shared with you in December.

Remember, there is no better investment than your education. Compared to those without a degree, UWG graduates earn an average of $1.4 million more—even higher for advanced degrees—over their lifetimes. Moreover, UWG is ranked third in Georgia for upward social mobility.

Most important, education is the key to your intellectual and moral development. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose legacy we celebrate next week, “the function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.” Dr. King reminds us that education is a transformative tool for justice, equality, and opportunity. So, your education is the key to uplifting not only yourself, but also your families and entire communities.

We encourage you to join us in honoring Dr. King’s legacy at these events:

Thank you for being part of the UWG community. Given your dedication and commitment to education, I am sure you will continue to thrive and succeed. Together, we will accomplish great things this year.

Go West and Go Wolves!
