Members of the University of West Georgia Community,

Creating and maintaining an ethical, productive culture like the one we have at the University of West Georgia requires the dedication of all of the students, faculty, and staff who comprise the UWG community. That is why, each year, we join the other 25 institutions in the University System of Georgia – and the system office – to celebrate Ethics Awareness Week.

This year, we are highlighting our commitment to ethics during the week of Nov. 7-13. During this week, along with our sister institutions across the state, we will celebrate our shared core values of integrity, excellence, accountability, and respect. See the UWG Ethics Awareness Week website for details on events and programming this week.

I encourage you to attend two system-wide events next week: the USG Chancellor’s Chat Event on Monday at 11 a.m. (held on Microsoft Teams) and the USG Ethics and Compliance Best Practices Panel on Thursday at 11 a.m. (register via Zoom).

Employee tips are by far the most common initial detection method, and organizations with an ethics line detect unethical behavior at a higher rate than organizations without access to a hotline. To report fraud, waste, abuse, or other ethical concerns, visit the USG Ethics and Compliance Reporting Hotline or call 877-516-3466.

Thank you all for the work you do to create a culture that upholds our shared core values in our dedication to a first-choice university!

Sincerely,
