Annual Gifts and Scholarships
An annual gift and/or scholarship is a tax-deductible donation given before December 31, which is awarded the following year. Annual gifts are made for either a set number of years or until the donor discontinues funding. A minimum typical annual gift is in the range of $1,000 (less or more) and the contributions can be directed to the program area of greatest interest to the donor. For named annual scholarships a minimum of $7,500, payable over a five year period, is needed. The scholarship criteria such as GPA, financial need, and major is decided by the donor who establishes the fund.
Endowed Gifts and Scholarships
Endowed gifts and scholarships are critical in recruiting and retaining the best and brightest undergraduate and graduate students, as well as the most talented faculty. An endowed gift or scholarship is a long-term investment that will provide an annual award to hardworking and ambitious students, faculty and/or programming, year after year, generation after generation. Gifts and scholarships can be endowed with a gift of $25,000 or more; which is made payable over a 5 year period, and are awarded or directed based on a variety of criteria and the donors area of interest.
