I would like to welcome you to the University of West Georgia Tanner Health School of Nursing! As you will discover, amazing things happen when you Go West!

At our School of Nursing, you will find the excellent programs, faculty, students, and clinical experiences necessary to help you develop into excitement nurses at all levels. Both our state-of-the-art buildings and spaces in Carrollton and the UWG Newnan facility include amazing simulation spaces. Our Experiential Nursing Center (ELC) offers simulated acute care settings, and I encourage you to come by and see us; you will immediately understand we have the ideal environment for preparing professional nurses!

It is an exciting time to be a nurse, nurse leader, or nurse educator; we need you! The complexity of health care today offers so many existing opportunities to work in nursing, whether you are interested in ambulatory, acute, community, public health, research, quality improvement, leadership/management and academia. To meet these challenges, the THSON has a unique double focus, caring and excellence. These two qualities guide our mission which is to exemplify academic excellence in a caring environment by providing quality undergraduate and graduate education and to meet the current and evolving health care needs within the global community. Our BSN, MSN and EdD programs are preparing the clinicians, leaders, researchers, and educators ready to meet the health care needs of society for years to come. Our traditional undergraduate program features an innovative curriculum with unique simulation experiences for learning in safe spaces and our graduate programs are recognized nationally for high touch online instruction. We are known to educate the educators!

We are eagerly planning for your future. It is my privilege to lead the Tanner Health School of Nursing into the future. I invite you to learn more about what makes the THSON the extraordinary place it is!

Sincerely,
