THSSON offers a pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree on two campuses. The Carrollton campus offers a six semester program that admits in the summer semester and the Newnan campus offers an seven semester program that admits in the fall semester.

The pre-licensure track offered on these campuses are for students who have never been licensed as an RN. This program prepares graduates who are eligible to apply to take the NCLEX-RN, the national licensing examination to become a Registered Nurse.

If you plan to transfer to UWG, please read about admission requirements to the university. There is also a link provided on the Registrar's Office website that allows you to see what courses may transfer. Once you have applied to the University of West Georgia, and have been accepted, it can take 10-12 weeks for the Registrar's Office to complete your individual transfer evaluation. If you have questions, please visit the Admissions Office or the Registrar's Office. Please also keep in mind that every nursing program is different, and nursing programs at other institutions may require different prerequisite course work.

Students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (Pre-Licensure) are evaluated and advised based on a specific Program GPA. A Minimum Program GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale in order to be considered for program admission. This GPA is calculated using all completed core coursework applicable to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at UWG. If any of the applicable courses have been repeated, all attempts are included in this calculation (excluding W’s).

Please keep in mind that your application to the Tanner Health System School of Nursing is in addition to the application for the University of West Georgia.
