Programs

Graduates of the program serve as leaders and flexible, responsible decision makers in a variety of roles such as school library media specialists, instructional technologists, P-12 teachers, and professional trainers. A variety of distance technologies are used to meet the needs of individuals who want to work in P-12 settings as School Library Media Specialists, current P-12 teachers who seek professional development opportunities in integrating new and emerging technologies into their curriculum, and instructional technologists who want to design and implement training in a variety of professional settings. All programs reflect the latest research in the field, effective practices in the profession, and successful leadership models.

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) program is fully online and prepares students to become change agents for today's technology-enhanced learning environments and shape technology's impact on a new generation of learners. The program is grounded in theoretical perspectives, instructional design strategies, and practical application of knowledge to ensure students can immediately apply what they learn to a variety of educational contexts and work environments.

Educational Specialist (Ed.S.)

The Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) program is also 100% online. Graduates of the program acquire further advancement in research and program evaluation in addition to practical applications of school library media and instructional technology.

The Master’s and Ed.S. programs lead to Georgia Certification at the S-5 and S-6 levels.

Georgia Certification-Only Option

A Certification-Only Option is available for students who wish to add certification in School Library Media and/or Instructional Technology but do not wish to earn another advanced degree. The admission requirements and courses for the Certification-Only Option are shown on the Program of Study.

Courses

Courses include Media and Instructional Technology, Educational Research, and Educational Psychology.
