Admission to Teacher Education
Students currently completing their core requirements must meet with their advisor for course selection and plan of study. Each program has specific course and GPA requirements that must be discussed and planned for in advance. For information on procedures and admission to Teacher Education see the Teacher Education admission and retention policies (PDF).
Once the student has met all the admission requirements and has been admitted to Teacher Education he/she is required to complete field experience and internship experience.
All education students are required to provide GACE scores or exemption scores in order to be considered for admission to Teacher Education. This means that you must pass GACE Basic Skills/Program Admission Assessment or provide exemption scores to be eligible to register for certain education courses. Acceptable exemption scores are ACT scores: 43 combined English and Math; SAT scores: 1000 combined Critical Reading and Math; GRE: prior to August 2011, 1030 Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning after August 2011, 297 Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning. Please see your advisor to make sure you are eligible.
An application for admission to Teacher Education is completed through Qualtrics once the student has completed or is in the last semester of the CORE curriculum.
