The University of West Georgia (UWG) Program Overview
UWG will host 16 Uzbek students and one professor for a 16-day leadership training program. Participants will engage in workshops on business, communication, and leadership, meet local entrepreneurs and leaders, and visit Atlanta and Savannah. They will work with peer mentors on skills development and a community service project, preparing them as future leaders of Uzbekistan.
Without exception, the 16 participants must comply with the following criteria:
- Be 19-22 years old and a citizen of Uzbekistan
- Be a current undergraduate student at the junior/senior level
- Have a strong command of English (TOEFL iBT score of above 69 or equivalent)
- Have leadership potential or experience
- Have a strong interest in serving a community in Uzbekistan
- Be recommended by a university professor
Once you submit your answers to the questionnaire, an automated message will be sent to the professor you listed in your answers. The professor will then answer questions about you on a questionnaire and upload a letter of recommendation discussing your leadership style, work ethics, service-learning experience, and confirm your English level.
