Looking for the definitive way to experience life as a student of Music? Do you wonder when the best Music scholarships are available? Wish you had a day off of school to see the University experience for yourself? If so, you're in the right place!
This one-of-a-kind opportunity lets you get it all in one visit. Destination: Music is a day full of musical activities for prospective Music majors.
The day begins with an overview of life as a music major and performances by several of our ensembles. In addition to meet and greet sessions with UWG music students and staff, you may also tour the beautiful UWG campus. Lunch is provided and you may choose to audition for one of our many scholarships.

Music Scholarships
Music is dedicated to supporting our students. A range of scholarship and awards opportunities are available for both admitted incoming freshmen and continuing Music majors. Please review the requirements carefully for each scholarship listed below.
How do I apply for a scholarship?
- Apply to UWG and for admittance if you have not already.
- Review the available scholarships in the list below.
- Apply to audition with Music. You will be contacted to arrange for an audition.
- Apply for a scholarship through the scholarships portal.
- Make sure to upload all required materials to the portal with your application.

General scholarships and awards
The Cindy Stone Denney Scholarship will be awarded annually by a scholarship committee within the School of Visual and Performing Arts. The recipients of this scholarship will meet the following preferences:
- Be a junior, senior, or graduate student;
- Be a students studying in the performing arts;
- Have a 3.0 GPA; and
- Demonstrate financial need.
Awarded to a UWG minority student majoring in music who demonstrates academic achievement and financial need.
Awards outstanding students majoring in music.
Awarded to a music major with financial need.
Awarded annually to exceptional music students pursuing a degree with the UWG Music Program.
Supports one UWG student for fall and spring semesters. The recipient must meet the following criteria:
- Have an overall GPA of 2.0 and a 3.0 in music courses
- Be a junior or above
- Qualify for financial aid
- Participate in a minimum of at least one ensemble.
Recipient selection will be based on audition requirements of Music for music majors.
- The award will be revoked for the following reasons:
- Change of major
- Failure to maintain GPA
- No longer enrolled.
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who is majoring in music and demonstrates talent in area of focus.
Awarded to a music major at UWG.
Awarded to a music major at UWG.
Awarded to a music major based on talent and desire to pursue the study of music.
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate majoring in music who has a GPA of 3.0 or higher and financial need. Chosen by the music faculty.
Awarded to a student majoring in music with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Awarded to a student majoring in music with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Awarded to an undergraduate student majoring music, art, or theatre who exhibits merit by the music and fine arts faculty.

Education scholarships
The scholarship will provide support for students majoring in Music Education. Scholarships will be awarded to students who are members of UWG Bands, have interest in continuing in the UWG Bands Program or participation in bands after high school. Preference will be give to students who:
- Demonstrate financial need
- Have been eligible or are eligible for Hope and Zell Miller.
- Demonstrate community and campus involvement through activities such as working or volunteering in addition to upholding band commitments in high school, an individual with a variety of passions and talents, and those who have the ability and interests to succeed.
